Drawing on its years of experience with relays, Omron is introducing a revolutionary industrial plug-in relay. With a width of only 6 mm, the G2RV offers significant space saving without compromising reliability and features. It therefore perfectly meets the needs of machine and panel builders looking to cut costs by reducing panel size. Furthermore, it is designed to last in the most demanding industrial applications.

At the heart of Omron's new G2RV relay is a strong mechanical pin with a large contact surface that ensures reliable connection between socket and relay. The strength of the pin also means that it is less likely to be bent or damaged during maintenance.

In spite of its slimness, the G2RV includes all the features of a true industrial relay such as a LED indicator, mechanical indicator, transparent housing and 6 A switching current.

Both socket and relay have been designed from the start as one smart unit, taking into account labelling, marking and ease of wiring. Currently the socket features easy-to-use screw terminals, while a push-in terminal socket will follow shortly. The push-in terminals will not require the use of a tool such as a screwdriver, thus further simplifying wiring and saving time.

The G2RV relay is easy to interface with PLCs, making it ideal for a range of industrial-control applications as well as domestic equipment and installations. Accessories such as PLC interface modules and a range of cables/connectors facilitate easy wiring and reduce setting-up time. Its slim outline, moreover, allows modules to be downsized and the number of I/O lines to be increased.

The G2RV comes in 6 different models covering input voltages from 12 VDC to 230 VAC. Accessories include a PLC interface to connect 8 G2RV sockets, cross-bars in various colours and lengths, and labels. Relay and socket are sold as a combination, with relays available separately for maintenance purposes.

G2RV relays are built to Omron's own high quality and environment-friendly standards, to ensure a long, reliable working life of 100 000 operations, and meet all relevant international standards like CE, VDE and cULus.
