At the annual HMI Hardware Vendor Award ceremony on November 23, 2005, Omron Electronics was classed in the top three European suppliers of Human Machine Interfaces.

Sponsored by IMS Research, an independent industrial automation market-research company, these awards are based upon an industry benchmarking study of HMI hardware users. For this year's study, IMS conducted a Europe-wide survey of machine builders, system integrators and end users.

Over 750 supplier ratings were submitted. Suppliers were ranked according to criteria such as product reliability, technical support, ease-of-use and quality of user manuals. Respondents were also asked to rank the categories themselves, these rankings being used to determining a weighting for the results.

By being classed in the top three HMI suppliers in Europe, Omron Electronics has proven once again that customers appreciate the company's product reliability, technical support and ease-of-use. Moreover, OMRON is the only total solutions provider in the top three. Its placing in the awards therefore proves that in HMI products Omron outperforms all other total solution providers on the market.

The award ceremony, which included a presentation of the survey's key findings, took place at the SPS/IPC/Drives Show at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center.
